Are You on The Shot?
Samhita Mukhopadhyay’s thoughtful essay on taking Mounjaro for weight loss was published this morning and sent me on a journey. I’m interested in seeing if it breaks through and changes the discourse around the whys of the new class of injectable weight loss drugs. Have you seen any articles that mention men taking the shot? Don’t they get diabetes, too? I know my media consumption is woman-centric, but I think the Ozempic craze is still about how we look. Shocking.
You Get Yourself Some Hormones
A few weeks ago, my friend JJ sent me this article from the New York Times about Hormone Replacement Therapy’s unearned lousy rap. It feels empowering to learn about options for relieving hot flashes, brain fog, and vaginal atrophy (please post the softest bathroom tissue you have found below). However, the article didn’t state the end game for HRT. A related scienc-y article said, “No definitive research has yet followed women who start in their 50s and stay on continuously into their 60s.”
You take HRT until you are 60, and then what? It sounds like The Powers That Be are saying, “Okay, we will give you another ten years of comfort, but once you are 60, we’re putting you on the shelf.” I want science-backed care for a lifetime. Not just until my last f*ckable day. (The video is uncensored.)
Sassy Gold
I wasn’t joking when I said I created Dating for Sh*ts & Giggles because Sassy didn’t prepare us for Tinder. I want adult Sassy! But since it doesn’t exist, will you share your go-to sites when you are avoiding prepping for yet another Zoom that could have been an email?
